Thrive Tribe awarded stop smoking contract in City & Hackney

April 1, 2025

Healthy lifestyle provider Thrive Tribe has been chosen to deliver a new stop smoking service in City & Hackney, thanks to their award-winning track record in creating longterm habit and behaviour change through a range of health and wellbeing programmes.

Thrive Tribe has an initial 3-year commitment to deliver face-to-face, remote and digital stop smoking support to the residents of City & Hackney districts of London. The new service, gloji Smokefree City & Hackney, launching July 2024, is the latest addition to Thrive Tribe’s growing range of UK-wide public health provisions that help thousands each year to improve their physical and mental wellbeing.

We look forward to working in partnership with the local authorities, NHS and other community organisations in City and Hackney to reduce the burden of tobacco. Stopping smoking is the single best thing anyone can do for their health, but it is difficult for smokers to quit such an addictive habit. Our proven programmes, which include free medication or vapes alongside the support of a trained behaviour change coach, empower smokers to kick the habit for good.”

Tim Roberts, Chief Executive Officer of Thrive Tribe

As with all their programmes, Thrive Tribe aims to bring an innovative client-centred behaviour change approach to the City of London and Hackney to deliver successful smoke free outcomes for clients.

“We are delighted to announce that our new smoking cessation service will be delivered by Thrive Tribe. This is the beginning of an exciting new partnership, where we can work together to help residents quit smoking for good. Smoking remains one of the leading causes of premature mortality, as well as contributing significantly towards the inequalities that we see in health. That is why we are committed to ensure that this new partnership means we work closely with our communities in the spaces that are familiar to them.”

Cllr Chris Kennedy, Cabinet Member for Health, Adult Social Care, Voluntary Sector and Culture
