Whilst we are all struggling with the idea of a very different Christmas this year, I can’t help but turn my thoughts to the children at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices (our charity partner). Many of the children are immunocompromised so they can’t take any risks. This means, no Christmas parties, no visits from family and no Christmas presents being sent to them. I was hoping that we might be able to send in some gifts but that is out of the question. If anyone has any ideas of how we might be able to put a smile on the children’s faces, without putting them at risk, please do let me know.
And as a charity itself, Shooting Star are still struggling financially due to the lack of fundraising events and having to close their charity shops again during the second lockdown. If you can make a donation, no matter how small, it will help them enormously. Perhaps donate what you would have spent on a secret santa gift. You can donate here!
**Alternatively, if the new tier system means that you will not be using your £25 budget towards evening celebrations on 4th December, please let me know and we can donate it to Shooting Star on your behalf.**
Thank you for your on-going support,
- Emma Adkins
